Madison Stream Team Volunteer Training
June 23, 2025 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm UTC+0
Do you enjoy fishing, boating, or floating on the Madison?
Do you live in the Madison Watershed?
Do you want to explore our watershed, and make a meaningful impact in the community?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you should check out the Madison Stream Team.
Water quality impacts fish habitat, migratory bird patterns, water flow, and the quality of our experiences outdoors. The Madison Stream Team is a volunteer group of citizens around the Madison Valley who help collect data on the quality of the Madison River and its tributaries. The goals are to better understand current conditions of the Madison River and its tributaries, and identify potential concerns that can be addressed through conservation and restoration actions.
Our training will include classroom-style presentations, including a review water quality data collected in 2024, identification of aquatic invasive species, and explanation of how to collect water quality data. We will end the day with field instruction, by collecting water quality data on nearby Moore Creek. Lunch will be provided for all attendees!
No previous experience is necessary!
