The Madison Stream Team is a dedicated group of trained volunteers who collect information about the health of our area waterways. This annual training provides an opportunity to learn the technical skills behind water quality monitoring. The event includes both classroom and field instruction, and upon completion, volunteers are qualified to do field work on any of the established sampling sites.

The 2025 volunteer training was held on June 23rd at the Madison Valley Public Library. For more information on the data collected in 2024 please visit our report page by clicking here.
The videos below are helpful resources for community members who couldn’t attend our volunteer training or want to learn more about stream sampling and water quality. They are provided by our longtime Madison Stream Team partner, MSU Extension Water Quality.
