Have you ever wondered how mother nature keeps her streambanks together?  Do you want to learn how and get your hand involved in helping her out on a local waterway?  Then mark your calendar for the Streambank Restoration Workshop planned for March 30 and 31 in Ennis.

The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees a working understanding of how streams interact with their banks, why projects succeed and/or fail, and the bioengineered design and installation approach used at an example stabilization project. The intended audience for this workshop is landowners, contractors/consultants, Conservation District Supervisors, and agency personnel with direct permitting or project management authority.
The workshop will be lead by Jo Christensen (USFS) and will consist of a half-day classroom session the morning of March 30th. A field session will commence the afternoon of the 30th and will proceed all day on the 31st. This instruction at the project site will explain site specific considerations and hands-on, step-by-step instruction on how to properly install a bioengineered streambank revegetation or stabilization project. This workshop is being funded by NorthWestern Energy and Montana DEQ. Additional support has been provided by USFS, Confluence Consulting, and Madison River Foundation.
