Beaver Mimicry

DAM BUILDERS WANTED. (TEETH OPTIONAL).

We’ve got an interesting project going to help restore Norwegian Creek.  We’re building Beaver Mimicry Structures (yup, beaver dams) out of willow cuttings.  The structures are an easy, low cost way to rehabilitate stream channels like Norwegian Creek.

Lend a paw to help restore the creek (and learn how to build these structures on your own property), August 1, 2013. Bring wading gear, sunscreen, bugspray, work gloves, and tree trimmers (if you’ve got ‘em). Meet at the Town Haul Diner in Harrison at 9 AM. Work day will end by 2 PM– flexible schedules welcome.
