Madison Stream Team Volunteer Resources

Thanks to All who attended the Madison Stream Team’s volunteer training this year on June 13th. For those that were unable to make it, but may be interested in learning more about water quality, sampling methods, and happenings in the Madison Watershed, we are providing some of the resources presented at the training, as well as links to our Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

MT FWP Invasive Species Guidance

Sophiane Nacer, the FWP AIS Coordinator Americorps member, led a presentation on invasive species identification and prevention, as well as an update on the threat of invasive mussels to Montana.

2023 State of the Streams

The State of the Streams report is annual document that summarizes the data collected for that year and provides insights into long-term trends in the Madison Watershed. Colin Threlkeld, the Madison Conservation District’s Conservation Programs Manager, led a presentation discussing notable findings, evident trends, and upcoming plans for restoration projects.

Sampling and Analysis Plan

The Madison SAP describes our sample collection program, including what streams are monitored, what parameters are collected, and how the parameters will be evaluated.
