Madison Conservation District Celebrates 70 Years
In 1946, our area was part of a national movement to establish local representation to address concerns about soil. The nation had been taught hard lessons during the era of the dust bowl, and the national leaders knew that if this issue was going to be solved, it needed to be championed by the people on the ground. Seventy years later, the Madison Conservation District remains focused on protecting our soil resource, and we recognize that the health of the whole landscape is tied together, including water, streams, rangeland, and forests. Stay tuned for the good things to come in 2016!
